" El Presidente " a film every Filipino should be Proud of...

" We are not doing this for the money but for the love of cinema and make a film that every Filipino should be proud of... " as Gov. Jorge E.R. Estregan stated during the presscon held yesterday at Club Filipino.

" El Presidente " is a film about the life of General Emilio Aguinaldo portrayed by Gov. E.R. Estregan himself and the Superstar Nora Aunor as Marcella de Agoncillo, the second wife of Emilio Aguinaldo. Tikoy Aguiluz is tasked to direct the movie.

This movie will officially start shooting on August 8 and would be entered to the Metro Manila Filmfest on 2012. When asked why it would take them as long as a year to produce the film, " We are looking for quality work that we could be proud of to present to the world, hopefully we can feature the film in different film festivals across the globe. " said Gov. E.R. Estregan.


" Nora Aunor is the perfect choice to play Marcella. The soon-to-be National Artist awardee. " the governor explained when asked regarding that Nora was just the second choice for the role

Also confirmed by the Governor to the delight of the press is that Robin Padilla is set to play as Andress Bonifacio and Carla Abellana as the first wife of the general.
